The Champs-Élysées,

2 minutes’ walk from the hotel

Welcome to the most beautiful avenue in the world. It starts at Place de la Concorde, on the right bank of the Seine, in the 8th arrondissement, and continues west towards Place Charles de Gaulle and the Arc de Triomphe.

The Avenue was drawn by Louis XIV's head gardener, André Le Nôtre, to improve the view from the Jardin des Tuileries. Named after the Elysian Fields of Greek mythology, it was transformed in the era of Napoleon III (Second Empire) to become a major draw for high society and celebrities: cafés and theatres sprang up along the avenue which is still famous for its restaurants, boutiques, theatres and cinemas. It becomes the most famous avenue of the world.
